Kudos to the many of us who are limiting their excursions outside, and doing their best to stay productive at home. It goes without saying that there are some challenges while living during the COVID-19 necessitated quarantine.
I’m not alone in missing the excursions and adventures. I’m used to travelling for work, but what I miss is touring the parks and cities every weekend and checking out the new developments and changes in our local communities. While I’ve been exploring film photography over the past few years, this hobby has taken a back seat. I have two rolls of films waiting to be finished and developed, dating back to last year. I’m looking forward to getting that done when the quarantine is over and reliving those memories again. I’ll be posting later this week to discuss my photography habits and gear.
I also miss being with my friends and family. We’ve adapted to this by having more frequent calls, which is nice. My family and friends don’t typically ‘catch-up’ but now we’re all in sync with each other. We’ve also found ways to entertain ourselves, mainly through Skype, Zoom and Steam games like Fibbage, Drawful, Quiplash and the rest of the Jackbox games suite. Thank goodness for screen sharing!
Staying entertained at home, without eating every five minutes is also a challenge, but I’m managing just fine thanks to my many gadgets and projects around the house. My office has never looked so clean and organized!
The slower pace of life has found me devouring through a bunch of backlogs. I’ve finished more books, completed more games, updated the site more frequently and brainstormed more story ideas. Unfortunately, due to the economic impact of the quarantine, fewer publications are taking pitches at this moment, so many of my best pitches have been put on pause for now.
While I’m looking forward to things getting back to speed, I will be using this change of pace to start new habits with the blog portion of this site. I look forward to new updates and round-ups of my latest stories. Don’t hesitate to comment on these posts for more detailed information, or reach out using the hire me page to get in touch. Otherwise, check out the latest car comparison, car reviews and features that I’ve written.
